A Perfect Day

I had such a wonderful birthday this year. This is the first time in many years that I have not been busy with other things on my actual birthday. Maybe I was making up for all those years, but it seems the day was full of many fun activities. Ryan took the day off of work -- I've never had anyone take a day off of work for my birthday before!

When the day started, our kitchen looked like this:

I took Nathan to tennis and stayed to watch him while Ryan remained at home with the other kids. When Nathan and I got home an hour later, my birthday present was being delivered. Within 30 minutes, the kitchen looked like this:
Yippee! I am so excited to have a grown-up fridge! I love that it now matches our other appliances. It is probably hard to tell from the pics, but it really changes the feel of the room -- it really warms up the space. Speaking of space, I now have so much more room for our food! The new fridge is deeper, wider, and taller. And we kept the old fridge and put it in the garage. With company coming this weekend for the holiday, I have already filled up both freezers and almost all of both fridges!

I went out to lunch with some of my friends from the neighborhood. I was so happy that Cindy, who moved 5 months ago, was in town for the week and was able to join Betsy and Katie and I. I hadn't mentioned to them that it was my birthday, but those smart ladies figured it out ahead of time. They were so sweet to bring me presents. We went to Magleby's at their beautiful new location in Springville. The special for the day was free chocolate cake for everyone in the restaurant -- how nice of them to celebrate my birthday with everyone!

Normally we go out to dinner with the family for each person's birthday. But I knew we would be going out when our family comes, and Ryan and I haven't had many dates lately with his crazy work schedule, so we went out just the two of us. We ate at Gloria's Little Italy (their desserts are AMAZING!), ran a few errands, and played a round of mini golf at Trafalga.

I truly was spoiled with a wonderful day!

Yay!! Happy birthday! I love the new fridge! And I LOVE having a spare in the garage...it's SO convenient, especially when company is in town. Not so great when the power goes out for over 3 hours!
