Last night Ryan and I attended Brad Paisley's Virtual Reality Tour concert. As always, it was AMAZING! This was our third time seeing Brad in concert, and it doesn't get old.
I love that although he does a lot of the same songs each concert, he takes the time to change the way he does them. The lights, the video, the staging, makes them feel new and fun each and every time! One of the best parts in regards to effects was when Carrie Underwood "appeared" on stage to sing their duet "Remind Me". It looked so realistic that the people next to me were convinced that Carrie traveled to Salt Lake just to sing that one song with Brad!
But my very favorite part occurred after he finished a song with his acoustic guitar. He was out on the "catwalk" part of the stage, surrounded by the audience. After the song, he focused his attention on someone in the audience, and I thought maybe he was going to give someone his guitar pick or hat. Instead, he took out his pen, signed his guitar, pointed at a young boy, and then handed him the guitar! Wow! I was in tears!
We had pretty good seats -- on the floor about halfway back. But I learned that from now on I should not pay for floor seats -- I am too short for it to be worth it! I need the stadium seating to be able to have a chance to see past the heads in front of me :)
But for part of the concert, Brad came out to a small stage that was pretty much right behind us! He performed to the people in the very back, so he had his back to us. But it was still exciting to be so close!

Cara's Quilt
I just finished a lap quilt for my friend Cara. A few months ago, we had a service auction at church. She won a quilt from me, and I won babysitting from her. A good deal if you ask me!
For this quilt, I followed the same pattern that I did for Beckham's quilt last summer, and for Madi's quilt this past fall. It's fairly simple to create, but is still cute. I love the polka dots!

My cute family
We were fortunate enough to receive a new camera for Christmas. Even though I haven't taken the time yet to figure out all of the settings, I have enjoyed using it to take candid pictures of all my wonderful family!

Hair
Elizabeth has finally been getting some hair lately. It still looks scraggly and not very feminine, but this mom is excited that she is finally getting something!
Unfortunately, this week Elizabeth and her brothers learned that you can't play the same way with long hair as you can with short:
Luckily, Ryan is very patient and is very good at figuring out things like this. He was able to get the truck out of her hair without having to cut any hair!
I forgot to take a picture of the "after", but here she is the next day. I know I shouldn't be so excited about curlers, but this is the first time we've been able to get basically all of her hair into them! And who can resist that smile?!

The Fun of New Toys
One of the things I love about Christmas and birthdays is that the kids are easily entertained for several weeks afterwards! Today Elizabeth had a lot of fun playing with some of her new toys.

Snow Fun
Even though I don't like going outside in the winter, I think it is so cute that the kids LOVE being out in the snow! (Well, it's cute until they come in and I have to deal with wet boots, gloves, etc.)
Today they had fun enjoying some new snow and our play set at the same time.

Imaginative
Today Benjamin received an award at the Character Counts assembly at Provost. His teacher recognized him for being "Imaginative."
I love to read the stories he writes in her class -- they are definitely imaginative! And he is so creative with his Legos. Congratulations, Benjamin!
