July 4th Celebration -- Day 2

Saturday, July 3: Family BBQ

Now that most of the Partridge family lives in Arizona, we had assumed we'd be going down there for the 4th this year. But when everyone found out that Carrie Underwood would be at Stadium of Fire and that Bradley could do soccer camp at BYU the week after the holiday, they all decided to come up here. We were so excited to continue our Utah traditions another year!

We spent the morning hanging out at our house and prepping things for the BBQ. We headed over the Bicentennial Park mid-afternoon. Ryan and his dad fired up the grill and got cooking.
Looks like Chase supervised :)
The kids had a blast on the playground. (Amy's family was gone running an errand when I took playground pictures -- sorry I missed you guys!)

Nathan loved taking Elizabeth on the slides and also pushing her on the swing

Elizabeth had fun on the swing

We enjoyed a delicious meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, brauts, watermelon, pasta salad, veggie tray, and chips.

And of course, no Partridge family get-together would be complete without a few surprises from Grandma. The men got grilling mitts, the women got picnic plate covers, and the kids got hackey sacks -- or as Joshua calls them, hockey balls.
Then we took our traditional picture of everyone together. We missed having Brett's family with us -- they were at a family reunion for Stephanie's family.

The fun was just beginning . . . time to get ready for Stadium of Fire!

We were sad to miss all of the festivities. It looks like a lot of fun. . . I think the shuttle experience sounds pretty funny though:)
