The Happiest Place on Earth

This week we are at Disneyland with all of Ryan's family. We will be spending three days together. Because of everyone having different days off work and such, everyone is spending a day or two on each end of the week "on our own". So today while the rest of the group spent their morning traveling to Anaheim, our family was in Disneyland.

We started with Astro Blasters and Star Tours, then headed over to Fantasyland. We just happened to run into Sleeping Beauty!

Then it was time for Thunder Mountain. I waited with Joshua and Elizabeth while the big boys went on the ride. We had fun with the ducks, who were not at all afraid to get close to us!

Winnie the Pooh -- we rode this 3 or 4 times in a row!

After lunch, we split up . . . Ryan took all of the boys to do the Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, and other big rides. Elizabeth and I stood in line all afternoon to see princesses. She was fairly well-behaved in line and loved seeing each princess!

She was selected to dance to Be Our Guest during princess story time!

Once we got back together, we did a few more rides in Tomorrowland and also went to the Wheel of Progress. Two years ago, Ryan and I were at Disneyland for our anniversary and we spent some time in the exhibits. He was impressed by a smart-home system they were using from a company called Control4 . . . less than 3 weeks after that he needed a new job and was hired at Control4! Here he is today, wearing his t-shirt from the company party

The younger kids wanted to go back to the hotel and go swimming. While they did that, Nathan and I went over to California Adventure to check out the new Cars Land. Here we are in line for the Tow Mater ride, which was a lot of fun!

Tomorrow we will meet up with all of Ryan's family. The fun starts bright and early (actually, so early that it isn't bright yet), so we are heading to bed on the early side tonight.
