The Grand Parade

Last year, Benjamin and I went to Provo's 4th of July Grand Parade together. This year we brought Elizabeth with us, but we couldn't convince the other boys to come. (Ryan stayed behind to help a family move.)

I enjoyed it this year more than last. Maybe it was because I knew what to expect. Maybe it's because we didn't wake up as early this year. Maybe it was because it was overcast a lot of the time so we didn't get as hot. Maybe it was because Elizabeth is at a fun age -- she gets so excited about everything!

This group stopped right in front of us and did some really cool stunts on their bikes!

Elizabeth had fun waving at all the floats and people. There were a lot of floats with city royalty on them. It took me a time or two to realize that Elizabeth was saying "princess" when those floats went by. So from there on out, she and I would wave to the princesses. Oh, it is so fun having a little girl!

At one point in the parade, Benjamin said, "That's 17." Seventeen what? I hadn't realized, but he had been counting horses the entire time. I think he got up to about 30 by the end. It's funny what kids latch on to!

Nothing is more patriotic than Star Wars . . . um, right?
Cosmo (BYU mascot) stopped pretty close to us and did this flip on a tramp and dunked the basketball. Fun!

Hey look! I'm so excited for the music . . .

. . . so I can DANCE!
