Easter with Cosmo

Today we continued our Easter festivities with the "First Annual Cosmo's Easter Egg Hunt" at the BYU football stadium. I found out about it after Ryan and I had already talked about going to the city egg hunt for our first time. When I read about the hunt at BYU, not only did it sound like a fun idea, but I thought it would also be less-crowded than the city's hunt.

We started off in the bleachers, waiting for everything to start. As we waited, we could see the football field littered with candy and some BYU items. They used some gymnastic mats in pyramid shape to create a few hiding spots, but most of the loot was in plain sight!

Cosmo and the Easter Bunny entered the field. After the crowd's excitement died down, we received some instructions. We were then herded down onto the field -- the kids 2 and under on one side, and 3 and up on the other. I went with Elizabeth and Ryan took the boys.

Everyone lined the perimeter of their respective sides. After they said "go", it didn't take long for everything on the field to disappear! Elizabeth had a lot of fun running towards the candy. Luckily, it didn't bother her too much when other kids usually beat her to the candy! She did end up with a few things, though, including some BYU football player cards and a pom-pom key chain. I didn't see how the boys did in the process, but they got a decent amount, too. There were some hurt feelings that other kids (including a sibling) didn't follow the announced candy limit rule. But they got over it pretty quickly!

Ryan was in heaven that he got to be down on the football field. As he pointed out, "Not many people can say that they have ever stepped foot on the BYU field!"
